Forster, Sheridan, and Teresa Iacono. “Perceptions of Communication before and after a Speech Pathology Intervention for an Adult with Intellectual Disability.” Journal of Intellectual & Developmental Disability, vol. 32, no. 4, 2007, pp. 302–314., doi:10.1080/13668250701654425.
This journal discusses a case study in which an adult with severe hearing and communication impairment is recorded and tested before and after several speech professionals took action to increase his quality of life. The parents were interviewed as well, and they too were happy that their son’s medical needs were being taken care of and he was progressing further.
This academic journal is a case study where they recorder the results that speech pathology had on a specific impaired adult. Both authors specialize in linguistics and have college degrees in their field. Most academic journals can’t be published through a reputable company unless the information is true. Throughout the article many different reputable organizations are mentioned like the “World health organization.” They use organizations like these to help the reader understand that their work is credible.
Studies like this are so important because it shows the huge impact that speech pathology can have even on adults. I will use quotes and examples from Mark’s case study to effectively write my annotative bibliography. My introduction can discuss the set-up of mark’s treatment. I can then go on to show his results and demonstrate the importance of speech pathology in the modern day.

Daniel, G. R., & McLeod, S. (2017). Children with Speech Sound Disorders at School: Challenges for Children, Parents and Teachers. Australian Journal of Teacher Education, 42(2).
"Paul’s parents noted that he was less confident when speaking with others, stating that compared to his friends, he spoke: “A lot less. A lot less. And [with] a lot less confidence in what he’s actually saying”. Paul’s mother and father identified the effect of his lowered self-confidence on his self esteem as being the biggest impact of having a speech sound disorder on Paul’s life.”Daniel, G. R., & McLeod, S. (2017). Children with Speech Sound Disorders at School: Challenges for Children, Parents and Teachers. Australian Journal of Teacher Education, 42(2).I will use quotes and examples from each of the six children’s case studies. My introduction will introduce the concept of speech pathology and discuss the importance of speech pathology. Then throughout the rest of my annotative bib I can talk about the effects of the case study to show importance. These case studies were developed to show the amazing affects that speech pathology can have on different types of students. This study especially focuses on how a students confidence can impact their speech .Both of the authors in this article work specifically in the speech and linguistics department at Charles Sturt University. This academic journal was published my a reputable company, and the authors used many other scholarly articles when developing their own case study.

Dawson, Stacey M.L., "Pull-Out or Push-in Service Delivery Model: Conducive to Students or Teachers?" (2014). Education Masters. Paper 296.
This source discusses and analyzes which type of education works best for special needs students. It specifically addresses push- in and pull out models. It later goes on to analyze different credible literature sources in order to determine which method is more successful. This quote demonstrates how pull-out services can impact students, “Therefore of all individuals served under IDEA in 2011, 94% of the students spend at minimum, 20% of their day out of the classroom to receive related and instructional services.” This source is credible because it was written by a student at St. John Fisher College who is working on her master’s in education. It was published by Fisher Digital Publications. The URL indicates that the source is valid. This article most definitely relates to my essential question and all my research because it’s helping to answer the second part of my question “How are SLP’s able to individualize treatment.” The push-in or pull-out factor plays a huge role in the students results.
